FujiFilm Installs Inca Wide-Format Printer Product
Fujifilm's Graphic Systems Division installed an Inca Onset S40 wide-format UV inkjet printer at its Demonstration Center in Kansas City, Kan. The six-color Onset S40, equipped with automation, is the latest addition to the Inca Onset range.
The Onset S40 with automation produces 94 full-sized (63-inch by 123.6-inch) high-quality prints per hour. The printer has been engineered to provide best-in-class levels of quality and performance at a low cost per print.
The Onset S40 uses FujiFilm’s Dimatix Sapphire QS-256 printheads, produced with the proprietary MEMS (Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems) manufacturing process. The MEMS process results in a silicon nozzle plate with a very accurate drop tolerance compared to other competitive printheads.
The Onset S40 is available in either four-color CMYK, or six-color with CMYK + Lc + Lm. It has an optional ¾-automation system that can be purchased with the press or added later as an in-field upgrade. The automation system includes three registration points for 1-up full bed 63-inch by 123.6-inch sheets or 3-up 40-inch by 60-inch sheets.
The Onset S40 is offered with a choice of RIP software including ColorGATE Production Server 6, which offers one of the most flexible and highly productive software products for digital, centrally controlled high-end large-format printing.
“We believe the Inca Onset S40 brings a combination of quality and speed to wide-format inkjet that will truly change the market,” says Mitch Bode, vice president, Wide Format and Specialty Ink Systems, Graphic Systems Division, FujiFilm North America. “Now large quantities of wide-format inkjet prints can be produced at the quality that offset printers demand. And existing digital printers will be able to quickly produce large quantities of higher quality inkjet prints to more effectively respond to fast turnaround orders.”
